Evil Dead: The Game Support Ends, Nintendo Switch Version Cancelled

Boss Team Games’ multiplayer horror title will receive no further content, though servers remain live for the “foreseeable future.”

Saber Interactive and Boss Team Games have announced the end of support for Evil Dead: The Game. There will be no further content updates, but servers are live for the “foreseeable future”, and the developer will address any major issues.

Unfortunately, the Nintendo Switch version has been cancelled. Evil Dead: The Game launched in May 2022 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC and sold 500,000 units in the first five days. It would receive a Game of the Year Edition and Steam launch this past April. As for the reason behind all these developments, it may be part of the Embracer Group’s restructuring program.

Saints Row developer Volition closed, and there are rumors of plans to sell Gearbox Entertainment. How this affects future projects, like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic – Remake (which Saber Interactive is reportedly leading), remains to be seen.
