Gunfire Games president David Adams confirms a performance mode for Remnant 2, which will be “pretty solid” despite not being locked.
Gunfire Games has ramped up the marketing for Remnant 2 in recent weeks, and ahead of its launch later this month, plenty of new details have been revealed on the shooter, from the locations that players will be visiting to the classes you’ll be able to play as and more. Now, it’s also been confirmed that it will feature a performance mode on current-gen consoles at launch.
The confirmation came recently from Gunfire Games president David Adams on Twitter, who said as part of an AMA that Remnant 2 will have a 60 FPS performance mode on PS5 and Xbox Series X at launch. Adams says that though the frame rate may “dip occasionally” in performance mode, it’s still “overall pretty solid”. He also confirmed that players will be able to turn off motion blur.
60 FPS modes and motion blur toggles are never guaranteed in games (we have plenty of recent major examples of both, in fact), so Remnant fans looking forward to the upcoming sequel should be pleased with the news.
It remains to be seen what the game’s resolution target will be in performance mode, and what players can expect from it on the Xbox Series S.
Remnant 2 launches on July 25 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
