Cronos: The New Dawn Calls Humanity the “Perfect” Anomaly in New Trailer

Not all Travellers focus on extracting humanity’s Essence. Some want to preserve their culture for some unknown purpose.

At first glance, Cronos: The New Dawn appears to be another survival horror from Bloober Team, inspired by Dead Space and Resident Evil. However, recent gameplay and previews indicated that there’s more going on than meets the eye (especially given the nature of its multiple endings).

A new release date trailer further hints at the same as the protagonist, ND-3576, encounters another Traveller. The latter reveals that they’re preserving music and other culture while philosophizing about humanity cherishing what they value the most in the current post-apocalyptic setting. It’s an anomaly, a “perfect one” at that, which isn’t ominous at all.

ND-3576, on the other hand, is more keen on preserving humanity by harvesting their Essence at the behest of the Collective. One such individual is showcased, but the overall purpose behind this is still a mystery.

Thankfully, we won’t have to wait long to find out as Cronos: The New Dawn launches on September 5th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.
