Summer Game Fest 2023 Will be 2 Hours Long, Features 3-4 “Pretty Big” Announcements

Producer Geoff Keighley says this year’s showcase will have three or four things that’ll be “pretty big for this audience.”

In a couple of days, PlayStation Showcase will be kicking off this year’s summer season of major gaming events and announcements, with the likes of Xbox Games Showcase, Ubisoft Forward, and many more set to follow over the coming days. Of course, Summer Game Fest is also coming back with another live show on June 8, and it looks like it’s set to be a big one.

Earlier this month, the full list of partners for this year’s event was revealed, boasting over 40 partners in a list that includes the likes of PlayStation, Xbox, EA, Activision, Ubisoft, CD Projekt RED, and many more. But can we expect a single show-stealing announcement at this year’s event as well, like we got The Last of Us Part 1 last year and Elden Ring the year before that?

According to producer and host Geoff Keighley, we may get more than one of those, interestingly enough. Speaking in a recent interview published on the Epic Games website, when asked if Summer Game Fest had similar announcements up its sleeve, Keighley said that this year’s show was set to have three or four things that will be “pretty big for this audience.”

Meanwhile, Keighley has also confirmed that Summer Game Fest 2023 will run around two hours long, which is roughly how long last year’s showcase was as well.
