Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Trailer Highlights Monoco and His Monster-Copying Skills

The ineffable Gestral can copy techniques from Nevrons for use in battle and obtain different benefits depending on the mask.

If the playstyles of Gustave, Maelle, Sciel and Lune in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 weren’t enough, Monoco Grandaro has you covered. As a Gestral who reveres combat and duels, he joins the group on their mission to annihilate the Paintress, brandishing his own unique skills. Or rather, those he’s stolen from others.

Monoco can copy skills from Nevrons, from applying shields to targets to dealing single-target damage and gaining effects like Rush. Depending on the mask, he also obtains benefits like increased damage, granting Action Points to targets, more Break damage, etc. It’s somewhat akin to Persona and allows for even more unique strategizing.

The trailer also briefly showcases Gradient Attacks, which rely on Gradient Charges. While their effects are unknown, they look to deal more damage. Stay tuned for potential new details in the coming weeks.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 launches on April 24th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
