Sony Seemingly Has an Unannounced PS5 Game Planned for 2023 Launch – Rumour

The LinkedIn page of a Sony Interactive Entertainment employee suggests that an unannounced first party PlayStation title is due out this year.

2023 has been a packed year so far, and looking ahead at upcoming releases, it’s clearly not going to let up anytime soon, though specifically where Sony’s first party lineup for the year is concerned, things are looking relatively light, with the only first party PlayStation title that’s officially confirmed to be launching this year being Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. However, there might be something else in the pipeline beyond that that we don’t yet know about.

That’s as per the LinkedIn profile of Sony Interactive Entertainment employee Dylan S., who is a senior VFX artist, and mentions on his profile that he has worked on creating “photorealistic and stylized effects for film, television, and games.” Specifically where the latter is concerned, he mentions having worked on God of War Ragnarok, though interestingly enough, his profile also mentions a 2023 project that’s currently unannounced.

What that could be referring to is, of course, anyone’s best guess. The safe bet would be Naughty Dog’s standalone multiplayer The Last of Us game, which hasn’t yet been formally unveiled and doesn’t have a release date as of yet.

That said, recent leaks have claimed that Sony has a PlayStation Showcase event planned for later this month, so it’s possible we end up hearing more about what the rest of 2023 looks like for PlayStation’s first party releases.
