Embark Studios reveals work-in-progress gameplay from last month’s tech test, highlighting how the extraction shooter works.
Nearly three years after its initial announcement, Embark Studios’ ARC Raiders has received its first gameplay footage. It showcases three raiders venturing into the Rust Belt’s Buried City to uncover a seed vault. Check it out below, though remember that it’s from an October tech test and is still a work in progress.
ARC Raiders is a PvEvP extraction shooter set in a post-apocalyptic world. Players emerge from tunnels underground onto the surface where deadly Arc machines roam free. Areas have different levels of presence for Arc machines, but you must also watch out for other players. Though teaming up is possible (using gestures and voice lines available to facilitate the same), they can easily attack you.
As with many other extraction shooters, dying means losing everything you picked up. There’s an incentive to attack other players for their loot but just as much to lay low and avoid confrontation. The tail-end of the trailer also highlights some of the larger Arc machines you’ll deal with while roaming the Rust Belt.
ARC Raiders launches in 2025 for PS5, PC and Xbox Series X/S, with wishlists now available.
