Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Will Receive Changes for Blocking Trait, Melta Gun Fix

Saber Interactive also revealed it would taie time to change Operations matchmaking to prevent the same classes from grouping up.

Along with outlining upcoming server fixes and changes to AI bots in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, Saber Interactive fielded questions regarding PvE balancing. It first noted that it’s still discussing the disparity of the Assault class compared to others, especially in PvE compared to the campaign.

“We are still collecting data on this issue to see how we can work on it.” On the other hand, the Blocking weapon trait (which eliminates the window for perfect parries) will see changes in a future patch due to how inherently poor it is. Another fix is coming in the next patch for the Melta Gun, which is bugged and heals players “above the contested health”.

As for weapon balancing in general, it said, “We hear you, and some weapons can under-deliver on the power fantasy at higher difficulty levels. We also recognize that enemies can be too bullet-spongy on higher difficulty, which is not much fun. That’s the core issue, rather than the bolters themselves. For now, we are testing some tweaks in difficulty to make the enemies have less health but keep the engaging difficulty.”

As for upcoming quality-of-life changes, the developer is working on ensuring players won’t match with the same class in Operations. It will “take us some time” to roll out, but there won’t be changes to current class limits for matchmaking (though implementing it in private lobbies is under consideration). Unfortunately, loadouts saving your skill tree customization is “not a priority for us at the moment.”

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has sold over two million copies since launch. Its first big patch arrives later this month, adding Ultrawide monitor support, private lobbies for PvE and a Sparring Arena in the Battle Barge for PvP.
