The racing sequel will feature an overhauled physics system, new customization tools, an overhauled career mode, new multiplayer features, and more.
Those who’ve played Wreckfest will tell you that it’s one of the best arcade racers to have been released in recent memory, and developer Bugbear Entertainment and publisher THQ Nordic have now announced that it’s getting a sequel. Wreckfest 2 was officially announced at the recent THQ Nordic Digital Showcase. Check out its announcement trailer below.
Wreckfest 2 will feature an overhauled physics engine, doubling down on its destruction mechanics, in addition to new customization mechanics that will allow players to create “the car of their dreams” and then share those vehicles online.
Beyond that, you can also look forward to what’s being billed as a completely reimagined career mode, as well as new multiplayer features such as a new skill-based matchmaking system, splitscreen support, and server queues, as well as bite-sized challenges, limited-time tournament events, and more.
Wreckfest 2 is in development for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. A release date hasn’t yet been announced.
