Those looking to dive into the optional content can get 12-15 hours out of the upcoming Metroidvania title.
It seems like there’s always a new promising Metroidvania game around the corner, and after Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown earlier this year, the next one that many have had their eye on is Sturgent Studios and EA’s Tales of Kenzera: Zau. Due out later this month, hands-on preview for the title were recently published by a number of outlets, following which new details have emerged on how long the game is going to be.
In its preview, One More Game reported that Tales of Kenzera: Zau will be roughly 8-10 hours long if you’re sticking to the main story, and about 12-15 hours with optional content. According to studio founder and game director Abubakar Salim, Sturgent Studios wanted to craft an experience befitting its $20 price tag, with the focus being on telling a story and making the game as accessible as possible.
“We almost want to treat it like a good season of TV,” he said. “Plus, at a $20 price point… respect the wallet. Gaming is an expensive hobby, and we want to make this as accessible as possible, especially with the idea of a universal theme of grief.“
Tales of Kenzera: Zau launches on April 23 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. It will also be available with PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium at launch.
