Little Nightmares 3 Supports Crossplay for Same Console Families and Friends Pass, No Voice Chat

Players on PS4 can match with those on PS5, while Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One players can experience the game together.

After revealing new details on Little Nightmares 3, its world and The Necropolis in a new video, Supermassive Games’ producer Coralie Feniello talked about co-op. The platformer supports online co-op (no couch co-op, sadly), with crossplay for the same console family, so PS5 and PS4 players can match together while Xbox Series X/S can play with Xbox One. No cross-platform play, unfortunately.

Friends Pass is also available, so only one person needs to own the game to play with a friend. Interestingly, to immerse players in the terrifying Spiral, there is no voice chat (though you can still use separate apps to converse with friends). The “call” button is still present for signalling to the other player.

Little Nightmares 3 is also playable solo with multiple save slots. You can have one dedicated to single-player and the other for multiplayer. As for the new characters, Low has been trapped in The Spiral for a “long time” and seeks to return home. Alone is his best friend and an “incurable” tinker who wants to unravel the world’s secrets. They each possess items, like a bow and wrench, to solve puzzles, but players will discover other objects to help them progress.

Little Nightmares 3 launches in 2024 for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5 and PC.
