Tekken 8 – Bandai Namco Details Changes, New Characters and More Ahead of Closed Beta

The Heat System has been adjusted to reduce long combos, and characters like Azucena, Feng Wei and Raven will be playable.

Bandai Namco recently announced a new closed beta for Tekken 8 from October 20th to 23rd. Fortunately, it isn’t the same closed network test from July. Players can partake in Ranked and group matches, spectate, chat in the Tekken Fight Lounge and even customize avatars. There’s also a Battle Tutorial.

In addition to characters returning from the Closed Network Test, newly announced fighters like Raven, Azucena and Feng Wei are playable, while Ortiz Farm is available as a new stage. Several changes have also been made to the Heat System, with the damage from Heat Burst being adjusted and very long combos from Heat Bursts and Heat Dashes reduced.

Power Crushes also perform better, and enhanced attacks in the Heat will drain the Heat gauge faster. Various changes have also been made to visibility, with the brightness, shape and range of effects adjusted. Assigning the L3 and R3 buttons and selecting a different preset outfit are also in.

The beta will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC, so head here to register. Tekken 8 launches on January 26th, 2024 – check out some of the newly announced features, like Super Ghost Battle and the return of Tekken Ball.
