The Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin open beta allows for 1-on-1 matches with crossplay between PC and consoles.
Frontier Developments has announced that its upcoming real-time strategy game, Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin, is now available as an open beta on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Players can now download the beta and hop into 1-on-1 multiplayer matches. The beta also features cross-play between consoles and PC.
The open beta for Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin features two factions: Stormcast Eternals and Orruk Kruleboyz. Players not interested in trying out the multiplayer can also play 1v1 matches against an AI bot.
A core feature of Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin is its unique controller-based control scheme, dubbed DirectStep. Players can give the control scheme a shot during the beta on all platforms. It essentially allows players to issue rapid-fire orders, cycle between their squads, and offer flexibility in a battlefield.
The open beta isn’t planned to go on for too long, and will be available until June 10. The game is slated to get a second open beta later this summer.
