Starfield – Standard Edition Only Includes a Disc on Xbox Series X/S

PC players picking up the physical Standard Edition when it launches on September 6th only get a game code with the box.

After initially claiming that Starfield’s Standard Edition wouldn’t have a disc (and then issuing statements to the contrary), Bethesda Game Studios has finally set the record straight. It confirmed in an updated article that the Standard Edition of Starfield would have a disc if purchased physically on Xbox Series X/S.

Those purchasing the Standard Edition on PC will receive a game code with the box. If you’re interested in collecting the game physically on PC, tough luck. At least all pre-orders get the Old Mars Skin Pack, which includes a Laser Cutter, Deep Mining Helmet and the Deep Mining Pack.

Starfield launches on September 6th for Xbox Series X/S and PC and is also available on day one for Game Pass (with subscribers also getting the pre-order bonuses). Premium Edition owners get five days of early access, allowing them to begin on September 1st.
