The Precinct is a 1980s Noir Action Game About Being a Rookie Cop

Top-down action game The Precinct got announced during the Future Games Show Summer Showcase with a trailer showing off gameplay.

Developer Fallen Tree Games has unveiled its new classic Grand Theft Auto-inspired game. Titled The Precinct, the game was announced during the Future Games Show Summer Showcase with a trailer that you can check out below.

The Precinct puts you into the shoes of rookie cop officer Nick Cordell Jr. The game is described by the studio as a love letter to classic cop movies, and features a 1980s noir setting. The game features on-foot action, as well as car chaces, and even allows players to pilot helicopters.

The game will feature procedurally-generated crime that range from simple ones like parking violations, to more intense events like gang wars and shootouts. It also features vehicle chase sequences along with destructible environments, and a day/night cycle with dynamic weather.

The Precinct doesn’t yet have a release date, but it does have a Steam page where you can wish list it. The Precinct will be coming to PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
