After Sorcisto consumes the memories of the player’s village, they embark on a quest to get them back while surviving the Blight.
With work wrapped up on Nobody Saves the World, DrinkBox Studios revealed its next action RPG – Blighted. Set in a “psychedelic Western nightmare,” players battle against Sorcisto to reclaim the memories of their village and combat the Blight. Check out the first trailer below.
While it’s also an overhead action RPG, the perspective is more isometric and hack-and-slash-heavy, with a sizable helping of parrying and countering. The Blight is also a core mechanic, altering the world and enemies, potentially opening new paths. Upon defeating bosses, you can consume their brains (similar to Sorcisto) and gain new abilities. However, you’ll become more Blighted, which can have consequences.
In keeping with its previous titles, you’ll encounter strange characters and creatures throughout Blighted. It offers drop-in/drop-out co-op while the soundtrack is composed by Jim Guthrie, who also worked on Nobody Saves the World.
Blighted doesn’t have a release date, but it’s coming to PC and is available to wish list now on Steam.
