ARC Raiders’ PlayStation File Update Seems to Suggest Potential Full-Scale Beta Incoming

While ARC Raiders has just conducted its latest closed technical test, Embark Studios appears to be preparing the game for a full-scale beta or an actual release, based on recent developments from the game’s test client.

Players have reported (via Scrappy) that in certain regions,  the ARC Raiders tech build has been renamed to what was once “ARC Raiders Tech Test | Beta” to just “ARC Raiders | Beta”.

The ARC Raiders community is conflicted. While some think this is proof that we’re getting a beta release soon, others think is a simple name change and means absolutely nothing. Based on what we’ve seen, the name change isn’t active on every region.

Adding fuel to the fire, the Xbox Series X|S client for ARC Raiders is now available in the Xbox app. Players can now install a small file that seems to be a placeholder for a preload. Some members in the community are guessing this might be a sign the game is getting a release soon, while others think this is also proof that a full-scale beta is about to be released.

It’s worth noting that the Summer Game Fest is scheduled to take place next week, and I would be surprised if we didn’t hear anything about ARC Raiders at the event — either a release date, or a full-scale beta roll out date. Heck, I wouldn’t be shocked if Emark shadow drops the beta on the day of its announcement.

Even in its technical test state, feedback for the upcoming extraction title has been quite positive. If you’re unfamiliar with the game, it’s a third-person, survival shooter made by the folks who developed the freee-to-play hit, The Finals. ARC Raiders won’t be free-to-play, and is intended to be a premium release, though won’t cost $60 or $70.

While Embark has not made any official release date announcement, the studio did confirm the game is due for release in 2025.
