Threaded Spike will deal more damage against PvE enemies, gain more energy based on targets hit, and pierce Cabal Phalanx shields.
Destiny 2’s Season 21, aka Season of the Deep, goes live later this month. Bungie has highlighted several new features, such as Exotic Armor Focusing, new colorblind options, and more. However, it’s also adding some buffs to Strand, particularly for Grapple, whose base cooldown goes from 105 seconds to 82 seconds.
The minimum time between grapple activations is from 2.5 seconds to 0.2 seconds. These will benefit the Hunter’s Threadrunner sub-class, but it’s also getting buffs to Threaded Spike. The latter will deal 55 percent more damage to PvE enemies, and the range it travels before returning is increased by 30 percent.
It will also pierce Cabal Phalanx shields and gain more energy depending on the number of enemies hit before catching the dart. Bungie is “generally happy” with Strand’s performance and will do more balancing over time. Expect other changes in the coming months.
In the meantime, Guardian Games returns on May 2nd with a class-based version of Supremacy and a new Legendary weapon, Taraxippos, a Legendary Strand scout rifle.
