Progression is also massively altered, as players must defeat bosses and collect Keystones to access the Forge of the Giants.
The Convergence, a popular Dark Souls 3 mod, is now available for FromSoftware’s Elden Ring. It’s still in public alpha, but PC players can download it now via NexusMods. As usual, back up your saves before trying it out, though the mod is only 2.8 GB.
In terms of changes, there is a lot to go through. There are several new starting classes, 360 new spells, new bosses, weapon changes and quality-of-life features. For instance, the Spectral Steed Whistle is given to you from the outset, along with the Crafting Kit, Whetstone Knife and Flask of Wondrous Physick.
Crafting materials are also auto-looted when near them, and you can rematch against any Remembrance bosses. The progression is also overhauled – you must now gather five Keystones of the Forge by defeating certain bosses to access the Forge of the Giants. For example, Godrick the Golden is a First Keystone boss while Maliketh, the Black Blade, is the fifth.
