Bloober Team and Konami haven’t provided any official details on how the horror remake leverages the console’s power.
It may have been missing from Sony’s list of 50+ supported PS5 Pro titles, but Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 remake supports the upcoming console. This was discovered on its PlayStation Store listing, which states “PS5 Pro Enhanced.”When the patch will go live and what it has to offer are unknown.
On the base PS5, the remake sports two modes, Quality and Performance, both with dynamic scaling per Digital Foundry (after being upscaled to 4K). The latter mode noticeably compromises on the lighting, ambient occlusion, and fog effects while struggling to deliver a consistent frame rate during combat and exploration.
Even if Bloober Team doesn’t implement a mode combining the two, it could improve the upscaling with the PS5 Pro’s PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution. Performance mode could also benefit from a more solid frame rate courtesy of the extra GPU power. Head here to learn more about the console and whether it’s worth purchasing.
