Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy Announced, Due Out This Summer

The co-op puzzle platformer is being billed by developer Frozenbyte as the series’ “deepest and visually richest chapter to date”.

It’s been a few years since the launch of Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince, but if you’re a fan of the fantasy platforming series and are itching to jump back in with a new adventure, there’s good news for you- you won’t be waiting much longer.

Developer Frozenbyte has announced the next instalment in the franchise, Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy. Set to be published by THQ Nordic the game will once again star Amadeus the Wizard, Zoya the Thief, and Pontius the Knight in what’s being billed as ā€œTrineā€˜s deepest and visually richest chapter to dateā€ and the series’ ā€œmost epicā€ entry yet, with more levels, puzzles, and battles than any of the previous entries.

The 2.5D platformer will allow up to four player local and online co-op and will also be playable solo, and will feature plenty of new systems and mechanics, such as a new adaptive difficulty system for both combat and puzzles, a new combat system, a character-specific skill quest system for deeper progression, and more.

Frozenbyte is also promising ā€œtenseā€ boss fights, cosmetic customization mechanics, and more. Check out the trailer below for more details.

Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy will launch this Summer for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
