Where Winds Meet PS5 Version Confirmed, Gameplay Trailer Features Magic, Bosses

Open world action-adventure RPG Where Winds Meet is headed to PS5! Previously confirmed for PC, the title, just got its first-ever PS5 gameplay trailer.

Where Winds Meet is inspired by Wuxia — a genre of fiction and cinema featuring martial artists from ancient China often show superhuman feats (think: Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon). The trailer shown features combat, and even bosses.

Game Synopsis:

As a wandering swordsman or swordswoman, journeying in ancient China during a period of turmoil, players will discover an unprecedented, colorful open world to explore as they embark on an epic adventure across a vast landscape, where breath-taking vistas unfold before their eyes. They will have the opportunity to master stunning Eastern fighting techniques to improve their combat prowess or, more unusually, use these techniques to solve puzzles and quests across the world’s villages, cities and countryside.

The background of the story is set in China in the tenth century, during the turbulent era of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period. Players will play the role of a young swordsman or swordswoman and embark on a journey to uncover the mystery of their identity.

The trailer also confirms that players will be able to choose whether they want a male or female protagonist, and we even got to see bosses such as the Rongyuan (a strict female officer and excellent craftsman), and the River God.

In terms of combat, Where Winds Meet offers close-range fighting using the Spear, Sword, Twin Blades, and Glaive, and there’s a bow for ranged attacks. Another weapon featured in the trailer was the umbrella that can be used defensively and offensively as shown in the video.

Where Winds Meet is being developed by Everstone Studio and is being published by NetEase Games. No release date is set just yet, but once we know more, we’ll be sure to let our readers know.
