Mod support is also getting some new details soon, with Bethesda sending access to creators for the Creation Kit beta.

The next big update for Bethesda Game Studios’ Starfield is arguably its most exciting, with new gameplay options, proper Surface Maps and more display modes on Xbox Series X. But what about the future? The development team confirmed other features in development, including the game’s first land vehicle.

Briefly spotted in the trailer for the May update, it doesn’t currently have a release window. Nevertheless, it should help explore planets at a much faster clip. As for official mod support, the team echoed statements by director Todd Howard, noting that the Creation Kit beta has been sent to verified creators. Expect more details on that soon.

It’s also working on Shattered Space, the first paid expansion launching this Fall (September, if the rumors are true). Additional quests were also mentioned, though whether they’re coming in a free update remains to be seen.

In the meantime, the next big update goes live on May 15th for Xbox Series X/S and PC.
