The Chinese Room’s upcoming horror game, Still Wakes the Deep, will also be coming to PC and Xbox Game Pass.
Developer The Chinese Room has announced that its upcoming narrative horror title, Still Wakes the Deep, is coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S on June 18. The release date for the horror game was announced with a new trailer, which you can check out below.
Along with getting a regular release across the three platforms, Still Wakes the Deep will also be getting a release on PC and Xbox Game Pass on launch day. The latest trailer was released as part of the Future Games Show Spring Showcase 2024, and shows off the game’s setting of the Beira D oil rig off the coast of Scotland.
Originally announced back in 2023 during the Xbox Games Showcase in June, Still Wakes the Deep puts players in the shoes of an off-shore oil rig worker. The player has to try and survive as they are stuck in the midst of a violent storm, and along the way, the player will also have to face unspeakable horrors.
Lead designer Rob McLachlan described Still Wakes the Deep as being inspired by classic horror properties, with the game’s initial elevator pitch apparently describing it as “‘The Thing‘ on an oil rig”.
