The VR Mode for Capcom’s acclaimed action-adventure arrives tomorrow for PlayStation VR2, free for owners of the base game on PS5.
PlayStation VR2 officially launches tomorrow with several titles, including Resident Evil Village. Capcom will release a free update for current owners on PS5, which makes the entire game playable in VR. If you’re looking for more extensive gameplay before committing, PlayStation Japan has uploaded a new 15-minute gameplay video – check it out below.
One nice addition is the shooting range, which allows players to test their aim in VR with different weapons. There’s also some close-quarters combat training where you can time blocks and get used to inventory management. From there, it’s a jump to Dimitrescu Castle and the underground areas where the Lycans reside for some action.
Resident Evil Village VR will also have a free demo when it launches, so you can try before buying. Along with PS5, the base game is also available on PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Nintendo Switch. You can check out our review of it here. It received the Winters’ Expansion last year, which added new playable characters to The Mercenaries, a story expansion and a new third-person mode.
