REWIND GAMES is excited to announce that Tanuki Sunset, our debut skateboarding adventure game, is now available on Nintendo Switch™. Launched on Christmas Eve, this release is not just a milestone but a tribute to the journey, our community, and significant life events.

In 2019, a trip to Japan and a vision of longboarding raccoons running through a forest sparked the creation of Tanuki Sunset. Four years later, our dream has been realized with the game’s release on a Nintendo console. This achievement is a testament to our studio’s dedication and the incredible support from our niche community on itch.io, whose invaluable feedback shaped the game.

Our journey was filled with learning and growth. We navigated the complexities of talking to publishers and the gaming industry independently. This freedom allowed us to take our game in the direction we envisioned. Not every step was easy. We faced unexpected challenges and the loss of our friend and colleague Nick Alfieri. Nick played a pivotal role in our journey, and we dedicate the launch of this Switch port to his memory. His support enabled us to self-publish on Nintendo, an experience that has been profoundly educational and fulfilling.

We also celebrate joyous moments, such as the birth of a beautiful daughter to our co-founding partner in 2022. These personal milestones are intertwined with our professional journey, reminding us of the balance between work and life.

The launch of Tanuki Sunset on Nintendo Switch™ is a dedication to these moments, both challenging and joyful. We respect and honor these experiences as they have shaped not only our game but our team and company ethos.
