“We Don’t Have That Much Longer to Wait” for Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 – Phil Spencer

Microsoft previously confirmed that the Ninja Theory-developed action-adventure title will launch sometime in 2024.

Microsoft has a packed release schedule in place for 2024 where its first party releases are concerned, but among those games, the one that has generated the most excitement is Ninja Theory’s long anticipated Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2. In June, the company announced that the action-adventure title would be releasing sometime in 2024, and though a specific release date has yet to be announced, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer has suggested the wait for it won’t be much longer now.

As caught by Twitter user @IdleSloth84_, speaking recently at CCXP 23, when asked about which upcoming Xbox game he was most looking forward to, Spencer mentioned Hellblade 2, and after showering praise on developer Ninja Theory, he suggested that the wait for it is not going to stretch on much longer.

“I’ll say Hellblade 2,” he said. “I just love Ninja Theory as a studio, I have for years, and all the work that they do. Their craftsmanship is fantastic. I love how that game’s coming together, and we don’t have much longer to wait.”

In September, Ninja Theory seemed to suggest that Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 was at a point in development where it was fully playable from start to finish, while less than a month ago, Xbox’s head of content and studios Matt Booty stated that it would launch “later” in 2024, after Towerborne and Ara: History Untold. Recently, the game was also rated in Australia.

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 is in development for Xbox Series X/S and PC.
