Activity in the Steam backend seems to suggest that Rockstar is working on an upcoming patch for the remastered trilogy.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition was as close as we’ve got to a major new GTA release in a decade, and it was roundly criticized by players and critics upon its launch in 2021, owing to the technical state that it launched in and the less-than-ideal “improvements” it made to three bona fide classics. Even now, the remastered trilogy remains in a state where there’s plenty of room for polishing and improvements- and it seems some of those could be coming in soon, on PC at least.

As spotted by @videotechuk_ on Twitter, recent activity on Gand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition’s SteamDB page suggests that Rockstar has been working on new fixes for the remaster on Steam. As the user points out, the SteamDB changelog suggests that this is “actual, real activity”, not just something related to changing encryption keys, something that you see quite often with games.

When this update will arrive and whether it will be targeting all platforms remains to be seen.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definition Edition is currently available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, iOS, and Android.
