Alan Wake 2 – New Game Plus, Nightmare Difficulty Coming Post-Launch

There will also be an “alternative’ narrative with new video content and Manuscript pages, though a release date is TBD.

Remedy Entertainment’s Alan Wake 2 is out on October 27th, and based on the launch trailer, it’s looking like a scary good time. However, there’s more to come after the survival horror title’s launch, including New Game Plus. In a new tweet, the developer confirmed that all unlocked weapons and upgrades would carry over.

A new difficulty, Nightmare, will also be available. There’s also an alternative narrative with new video content and Manuscript pages. How much does it change the first playthrough’s story and set up the future (to say nothing of Control 2)? We’ll have to wait and find out.

Alan Wake 2 will be available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC via the Epic Games Store. The release timing of New Game Plus is still to be decided, so stay tuned for further updates. Remedy is also working on two paid story expansions, Night Springs and the Lake House, though their content has yet to be revealed.
