New cosmetics, a new Control map, and Trials of Sanctuary, a new PvE mode inspired by Diablo 4, are now available for all players.
Blizzard Entertainment’s latest season for Overwatch 2 is now live and brings a little evil to the forefront. Rise of Darkness introduces a new Control map in Samoa, but its main attraction is the return of Halloween Terror, the seasonal co-op PvE event. Instead of Junkenstein’s Revenge, players embark on the Trials of Sanctuary in collaboration with Diablo 4.
The mode features six playable characters – Reinhardt, Pharah, Illari, Lifeweaver, Zarya and Sombra – each with unique power-ups befitting their “class” (like Reinhardt unleashing flaming projectiles with each slash). You can also discover “loot” and tackle bosses like Azmodan Wrecking Ball, Butcher Roadhog and eventually, Lilith Moira. Other foes like Orisa and Ramattra also appear.
Of course, if you want to play Junkenstein’s Revenge and Wrath of the Bride, those modes are still available. Season 7: Rise of Darkness is available for the next two months.
