“Mediatonic’s Work on Fall Guys Continues to be a Priority” – Epic Games

Amidst reports of Mediatonic being affected by Epic Games’ mass layoffs, the company says work on Fall Guys is still a “priority”.

Epic Games recently laid off 16% of its workforce, which is around 830 employees, and in the aftermath of the news, there has been some confusion regarding how that has impacted Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout developer Mediatonic, which is owned by Epic. Though initial rumours claimed that the entire studio had been laid off, subsequent reports have said that though the studio has indeed impacted by Epic’s layoffs, rumours of the entire team being let go are exaggerated.

Now, Epic has spoken on the matter as well. In a statement to VGC, the company denied reports of all of Mediatonic being laid off, and said that the studio’s work on Fall Guys “continues to be a priority” for Epic Games despite layoffs.

“This is false,” an Epic spokesperson said about reports of all of Mediatonic being let go. “Mediatonic’s work on Fall Guys continues to be a company priority.”

Prior to the layoffs, Mediatonic employed around 300 people, though it remains to be seen exactly how hard the studio has been hit by recent developments at its parent company.
