The long-awaited sequel is out on September 19th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch, but early access starts this week.
NetherRealm Studios has released the launch trailer for Mortal Kombat 1, which launches next week worldwide. Premium and Kollector’s Edition owners can start on September 14th, so this should be a good preview of what to expect.
Following last week’s reveal of Nitara, Reiko is revealed to be a playable character. He’s a rough-and-tumble fighter who relies on a spear to tear opponents apart. Of course, other combos and moves are showcased, but best of all, Shang Tsung’s in-game combat style is revealed. In addition to striking with claws and teleporting projectiles, the sorcerer retains his ability to shapeshift.
Of course, he also has a brutal Fatality, which involves pouring some solution into his opponent’s innards with some nasty results. Mortal Kombat 1 will be available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch (which has some issues, per leaked footage).
