Check out the newest turn-based RPG from the studio behind the Shadowrun Trilogy as well as BattleTech.
Publisher Paradox and developer Harebrained Schemes have announced The Lamplighter’s League. The game is slated to be a tactical strategy game in the vein of the XCOM franchise. Check out the announcement trailer below.
As its trailer would show, The Lamplighter’s League is going for a pulpy vibe reminiscent of classic adventure and action stories. The game will focus on stealth as its main mechanic, allowing players to sneak past enemies to quickly take out stragglers before engaging in a full-on battle.
Harebrained Schemes is known for its turn-based games, including the RPG trilogy based on the Shadowrun setting, as well as more recently, tactical mech combat game BattleTech where players had to balance firepower during fights with the budget constraints of running a mercenary company.
The Lamplighter’s League doesn’t yet have a release date, and it is unknown if it will be making its way on to consoles in the future. Its launch, however, is set to take place on PC through Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store.
