Overwatch 2: Invasion – Hero Mastery Delayed Past Season 6 Launch

The first set of courses for the new feature will be launching “later” in the season, though a date is still to be confirmed.

Blizzard Entertainment recently launched Season 5 for Overwatch 2, but it feels like a stopgap before its biggest content update for the hero shooter yet – Invasion. The latter is technically Season 6, but it adds tons of new content, from Flashpoint (with two new PvP maps) to the first set of Story Missions (which require paying to access).

However, it’s also adding features like the Firing Range for adjusting one’s aim and Hero Mastery, which provides different courses for heroes to run (with leaderboards). Though the initial set of Hero Mastery courses was to launch alongside Season 6 on August 10th, it’s delayed to “later” in the season, according to an update on Blizzard’s official blog.

A new livestream is scheduled for June 21st, showcasing more gameplay from Invasion, but the development team could provide more details on its roadmap. Stay tuned in the meantime.

Overwatch 2 is available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch.
