FBC: Firebreak Crosses 1 Million Players

Remedy’s first co-op shooter has achieved a significant milestone in its first week, likely thanks to Game Pass and PlayStation Plus.

Remedy Entertainment’s FBC: Firebreak launched last week to a rather tepid response from critics and players, barely reaching 2,000 peak concurrent players on Steam. However, it still managed to surpass one million players “as of last night,” per the development team.

Of course, it’s worth noting that the co-op shooter is also available on Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass and PlayStation Plus Extra/Deluxe. Set years after Control, it follows a unit called Firebreak that tackles Anomalies in the Oldest House, from a raging furnace to sentient sticky notes. Though we enjoyed the action, the objectives quickly became repetitive, and the progression wasn’t the smoothest.

Remedy released a patch earlier this week to address the latter, separating Requisitions and Cosmetics, rebalancing the costs of unlocks, and making Clearance Level 3 Jobs available immediately.

FBC: Firebreak is available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. It will receive two major updates this year, adding new Jobs, locations, equipment, and Requisitions.
