The remake will bring over the original game’s story and voice acting as is, Konami has officially confirmed.
Upon announcing Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, Konami confirmed that though the remake would be making some changes to the experience, especially where its gameplay was concerned, it would still be a faithful recreation of Metal Gear Solid 3. One area where the remake is going to stick to the blueprint without any deviations whatsoever is the story and voice acting.
The same has been confirmed by Konami in a tweet recently published via the official Metal Gear account. The company says that the story and voice lines in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will be brought over as is from the original. This follows recent confirmation from Konami that the remake will bring back the original game’s voices.
Presumably, this means that we can expect the cutscenes in the remake to be visually upgraded versions of their original selves, and it’s probably also safe to assume that voice lines will be remastered (though Konami hasn’t explicitly confirmed that).
Meanwhile, those who want to play the original Metal Gear Solid 3 on modern platforms will also have the chance to do that with the launch of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 later this year.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is in development for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
