Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is Bringing Back the Original Game’s Voice Cast

Konami confirms that the upcoming remake will see the return of “the original voice characters”.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater has massive expectations riding on its shoulders. That, of course, is true for any remake of a widely beloved game, but add to that Konami’s reputation in recent years and the fact that Hideo Kojima is no longer involved with Metal Gear, and skepticism surely begins creeping in. The Japanese publisher has said that the game is set to be a “faithful” remake, but what are the aspects of the beloved original that Konami has identified as the ones it needs to keep intact?

One in particular, it seems, is the voice acting. Metal Gear Solid 3 boasted an incredible voice cast that delivered excellent performances, from Lori Alan as The Boss to, of course, David Hayter as Naked Snake, and it seems Metal Gear Solid Delta won’t deviate from that, with Konami having confirmed that it will “star the original voice characters”.

Some questions do still remain. For instance, does this mean the original actors will return to re-record their lines, or is Konami just reusing the original game’s voice lines in remastered form? The company has yet to provide details on that front, but hopefully we’ll learn more in the coming weeks and months.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is in development for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
