Inspired by Belle Époque France, Sandfall’s gorgeous turn-based RPG launches on April 24th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
Sandfall Interactive’s Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has officially gone gold. Ironically, this occurred about 33 days before its launch on April 24th. The turn-based role-playing game is currently in the “final stretch,” with the developer focused on “polishing every detail before we hand it over to you.”
“We set out to craft the game of our dreams – a passion project built by a small team of RPG fanatics, artists, musicians, and friends. Now, with the build locked, that dream is real,” it said.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is about the Paintress, a mysterious figure who paints a number on her monolith and wipes out anyone of that age. An expedition from Lumiere thus sets out to slay her and stop the slow annihilation, though things quickly go awry in the Belle Époque France-inspired world.
Players control characters voiced by an all-star English cast like Charlie Cox (Daredevil), Jennifer English (Baldur’s Gate 3), Shala Nyx (The Old Guard), and Kristy Rider (The Sandman). Andy Serkis and Ben Starr (Final Fantasy 16) also appear.
With gorgeous visuals courtesy of Unreal Engine 5 and over 30 hours for the main story, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC for $50.
