The upcoming horror title also recommends an Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 and a GeForce GTX 1070 with 8 GB VRAM.
After it released the cinematic intro for Layers of Fear, Bloober Team also revealed the PC requirements for the upcoming horror game on Steam. As usual, Windows 10 is mandatory, as is DirectX 12, though the installation space is pretty meager at 20 GB.
Minimum requirements include an Intel Core i5-4690 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200, 8 GB of RAM and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 3 GB or AMD Radeon RX 580 4 GB. As for recommended requirements, you’ll need a Core i7-8700K or Ryzen 5 3600, 12 GB RAM and a GTX 1070 8 GB. It all sounds fairly unassuming.
However, it doesn’t tell us the expected resolution, frame rate, or graphics quality these requirements can deliver. With the title supporting ray tracing, Lumen and 4K resolution on Unreal Engine 5, it remains to be seen how much higher the requirements can go. It wouldn’t be surprising if they were as demanding as The Medium’s, despite how different both games are.
Layers of Fear is available in June for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC. A free demo goes live on May 15th for PC via Steam.
