Gears of War Collection Will Launch for PS5 Day One – Rumour

The remastered trilogy will be one of several PS5 releases by Microsoft. Whether a Switch 2 version is also incoming is unknown.

Leaks are claiming that a sizeable wave of major first-party Xbox titles will be releasing for PS5 in the months ahead, with Fable, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and more rumoured. That, of course, is on top of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Forza Horizon 5, and of course, DOOM: The Dark Ages, all due in the coming months. As you may expect, however, there’s some unannounced stuff in the pipeline.

That’s as per prominent leaker extas1s, who claimed in a recently uploaded video that the long-rumoured Gears of War Collection will release for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC simultaneously day and date. Whether a Switch 2 version is inbound is unknown, the leaker says. Though unaware of the collection’s announcement date, he claims it will feature remastered versions of the original Gears of War trilogy.

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard about Gears coming to PS5. With Microsoft’s multiplatform plans gathering pace, it may not be long before all major Xbox franchises are available on other consoles.

Meanwhile, the next Gears title, Gears of War: E-Day, is in development for Xbox Series X/S and PC. As per leaks, it’s targeting a Fall 2025 release.
