The co-op first-person shooter features the same location as Remedy’s Control, where players embody first responders to various threats.
Remedy Entertainment’s Project Condor is officially FBC: Firebreak, a first-person co-op spin-off to Control. It’s an intriguing new direction for the studio, serving as its first self-published title and multiplayer shooter. In a new Community First Look video, the team shares some new details on the development process.
It also confirmed that FBC: Firebreak is years after the events of Control. As the first responders for the Federal Bureau of Control, players must deal with threats to its headquarters, The Oldest House. Though the location carries over from Control, it’s reimagined from the ground up to facilitate the co-op mayhem. The developer also discusses humor and looking at ways to incorporate it into the game.
FBC: Firebreak launches in 2025 for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. It will launch on day one for PC Game Pass, Game Pass Ultimate, PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium. Remedy isn’t pursuing a live-service model but will release additional content after launch. How much it will cost is unknown, but it’s touted as “mid-priced.” Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
