Silent Hill 2 Remake is Out Now Worldwide

Developed by Bloober Team on Unreal Engine 5 and based on Konami’s 2001 horror classic, the remake is playable on PS5 and PC.

Following positive reviews last week and recent advanced access for Deluxe Edition owners, Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 remake is now available on PS5 and PC. Check out the launch trailer, which teases the basic premise and the titular town’s horrors.

As with the 2001 original, the story revolves around James Sunderland, who arrives at Silent Hill after receiving a letter from his wife, Mary. The only problem is that Mary is deceased. James explores the town, encountering violent and bizarre creatures (including the giant knife-wielding Pyramid Head) while also meeting other trapped individuals.

Though the plot is the same, Bloober Team’s remake heavily revamps the visuals, including the character models, facial animations, and more. It also features an over-the-shoulder camera perspective, new buildings to explore, remapped enemies with new attacks and much more.

Silent Hill 2 remake is exclusive to PS5 for one year, but Konami hasn’t indicated whether it will come to Xbox Series X/S later.
