Astro Bot’s Total Launch Week Sales in the UK Are 21 Percent Higher Than Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart

It was the second-best selling game in the UK last week, with Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 taking the top spot (and becoming UK’s fastest-selling Warhammer game).

Astro Bot has enjoyed widespread critical acclaim since its launch earlier in the month, to the point of becoming the best-reviewed game of 2024 so far, and it seems that’s resulting in solid sales for the 3D platformer. Though initial physical-only sales data from the UK suggested that the game had got off to a worse start than Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart – the last major platformer that PlayStation published before Astro Bot – fresh data suggests otherwise.

As per Christopher Dring of GamesIndustry on Twitter, accounting for both physical and digital sales, Astro Bot has got off to a “solid” start in the UK, seeing 21 percent higher sales in its first week than the aforementioned Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. The Team Asobi platformer has apparently seen a 55 percent share of digital sales so far, as opposed to Ratchet and Clank, which leaned 55 percent in physical’s favour.

As per Dring, Astro Bot was the second-best selling game in the UK last week, with Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment’s Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 coming in at No. 1. Space Marine 2 has, in fat, also become the fastest-selling Warhammer game in the UK to date, surpassing Sega and Creative Assembly’s Total War: Warhammer 3.

Publisher Focus Entertainment recently announced that Space Marine 2 had surpassed 2 million players promptly after its release.
