Darkest Dungeon 2: Kingdoms Begins Rolling Out in Q4 2024, New Paid DLC Announced

“Hunger of the Beast Clan” is the first of three modules for the standalone campaign, while Inhuman Bondage adds a new region and hero.

Red Hook Studios’ Darkest Dungeon 2 finally launched for other platforms last month, but what about Kingdoms, its new free standalone campaign? In an update on Steam, the developer confirmed that it would be released in three modules, starting with “Hunger of the Beast Clan” in Q4 2024.

Each module focuses on a different threat, the first introducing the Beastmen for players to deal with as they defend the realm and upgrade Inns. However, launching alongside this is a new paid DLC, Inhuman Bondage. It brings a new bonus region comparable in size to The Sluice – the Catacombs – with new enemies (described as “corrosive” and “oozing”) and items.

Available for use in Kingdoms and the base game, this region promises “high risk and high reward”, but also delivers a brand-new hero. Their identity is unknown, but they sport “unique” mechanics alongside Trinkets, palettes, weapon kits, and an origin story. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.

Darkest Dungeon 2 is available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
