Ubisoft offers a pittance after a recent patch resulted in progression blockers for those with existing saves in early access.
Massive Entertainment’s Star Wars Outlaws had a less-than-ideal early access rollout on PS5 after patch 1.000.002, causing players who didn’t start a new save to encounter progression blockers. While Ubisoft hasn’t provided a fix or solution, it is providing a Trailblazer trinket and 100 Ubisoft Connect Units.
In a recent email to players (via IGN), the publisher said, “We fully acknowledge that asking you to start a new game is not the best experience, especially during the early access period, and for that, we apologize.
“To make your return to the Outer Rim a little more special, we are granting you an in-game Trailblazer trinket as well as 100 Ubisoft Connect Units (to redeem for in-game rewards, for example).” The trinket can be claimed from the Trailblazer’s delivery crate after players arrive on Toshara. Ubisoft is also “actively working” to add the Units to player accounts. Whether these are exclusive to PS5 players or available to all is unknown.
Though hardly the biggest consolation for those who paid extra for early access and lost hours of progress, the patch has offered several improvements for the PS5 version. It also adds a 40 FPS mode to go with the Performance and Quality modes.
Star Wars Outlaws is playable on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
