In spite of its late launch, the survival horror remake topped the monthly charts, with Hogwarts Legacy coming in at No. 2.
GSD has released its latest data for physical and digital software sales in the UK for the month of March (via GamesIndustry), and Capcom’s acclaimed remake of Resident Evil 4 has topped proceedings. In spite of having launched late in the month, it was the best-selling game of the month in the region. Sales weren’t as strong as what Resident Evil Village and 2019’s Resident Evil 2 managed, but it did outpace 2020’s RE3 remake. 65% of its sales came on PlayStation, 20% on Xbox, and 15% on PC. Capcom recently announced that the game has sold over 4 million units worldwide already.
A couple of other new releases performed well as well. WWE 2K23 was the month’s fourth best-selling game in the UK, though initial sales are still down 20% over last year’s title. Meanwhile, Metroid Prime Remastered, which launched digitally in February, saw a physical launch in March as well. With physical sales alone, it entered the monthly charts at No. 9.
Elsewhere, Hogwarts Legacy took the No. 2 spot, having already sold more than some of 2022’s best-selling games, including the likes of Elden Ring and LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
On the hardware front, the PS5 was the best-selling console of the month, as well as the year’s first quarter
