S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl Delayed to November 20th

While GSC Game World uses the additional time to fix bugs, a Developer Deep Dive will be available on August 20th with new gameplay.

GSC Game World’s S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl has been delayed again, this time from September 5th to November 20th. A humorous trailer is available for the announcement, with a Developer Deep Dive announced for August 12th. Check it out below.

The developer acknowledged that players may be tired of waiting for the sequel but said the additional time will allow for fixing more bugs (or “unexpected anomalies” in Zone terms). The upcoming Developer Deep Dive will feature a full gameplay walkthrough of a quest alongside exclusive interviews and new footage.

GSC Game World touts S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 as “everything we envisioned” and believes the Deep Dive will provide a “comprehensive understanding of how the game looks and plays.”

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl has had a long development history, initially announced after Call of Pripyat and subsequently cancelled before its re-announcement in 2018. Though initially scheduled for a 2022 launch, the Russian invasion of Ukraine significantly impacted development. It will be available on Xbox Series X/S and PC, alongside a day one launch on Game Pass.
