The fantasy action RPG is still about a year and a half away from release, it’s been claimed in a fresh report.
The wait for the Fable reboot has been a long one, but with its recent showing at the Xbox Games Showcase earlier this month, Microsoft officially confirmed, as recent leaks had claimed, that the action RPG will be releasing at some point in 2025. When exactly in 2025 will it be coming though? As per The Verge’s Tom Warren, it won’t be until the later stages of the year.
Writing in his weekly newsletter, Notepad, Warren claims that Fable is internally scheduled to come out in Q4 of 2025, which means somewhere between October and December. The journalist claims that even Gears of War: E-Day – which was announced without a release window – could release before Playground Games’ reboot.
Microsoft currently also has South of Midnight and DOOM: The Dark Ages officially lined up for 2025, so it certainly looks like next year will be another strong one for Xbox where first-party releases are concerned.
Fable is in development for Xbox Series X/S and PC. It was recently confirmed that the game is receiving development support from Deus Ex studio Eidos Montreal.
