The free-to-play reboot of EA’s beloved skateboarding franchise was confirmed to be in development back in 2020.
EA announced back in 2020 that it was finally working on a long-requested reboot of the Skate franchise, and though there have been plenty of playtests and behind-the-scenes looks at the free-to-play game, it looks like it’s soon going to be formally unveiled in full as well.
EA and developer Full Circle have confirmed that Skate will be showcased at Summer Game Fest, which is set for tomorrow, June 7. Exactly what the game’s showing will entail, but hopefully, we’ll be getting out first look at gameplay footage, if not a release date announcement as well. Given how long the game has been in development, that doesn’t seem completely out of the question.
Skate is one of several games that have been confirmed for Summer Game Fest. Across its two-hour runtime, the showcase will also feature new updates and announcements for the likes of Metaphor: ReFantazio, Monster Hunter Wilds, Slitterhead, Alan Wake 2, and a new 2K game, which, according to leaks, is Borderlands 4.
