The next instalment in the Black Ops series will be globally unveiled on June 9, Microsoft has confirmed.
Last month, Microsoft announced that the Xbox Games Showcase would be returning on June 9, and that it would be followed immediately afterward by a “Redacted” Direct deep dive on an unannounced game. Many quickly guessed that the game in question would be this year’s Call of Duty instalment, and that’s now been officially confirmed.
Activision recently officially announced Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, in the aftermath of which Microsoft took to Twitter to confirm that a Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Direct will premiere immediately after the Xbox Games Showcase on June 9, something that Xbox’s VP of marketing Aaron Greenberg confirmed in a tweet as well. Updates on Xbox Wire and the Call of Duty blog have also confirmed that a global reveal of the game will arrive on June 9, so stay tuned for all the details.
Previous leaks have claimed that this year’s Call of Duty game will be set during the Gulf War and feature a fully open world single-player campaign. There’s no word yet on what platforms Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will launch for.
Allegedly, the game will launch in October and be available for Game Pass day one.
